New Turtle-Safe Lighting Installed at The Wetlands Institute
The Stone Harbor research and conservation centre replaced 200-watt metal halide lamps with two 60-watt Port-Bright™ magnetic induction fixtures, cutting electricity use by up to 70% while protecting light-sensitive wildlife. Executive Director Dr. Lenore Tedesco wanted to lower the Institute’s carbon footprint without disturbing the terrapins, birds and other species on the property, and found Ultra-Tech through coverage of the Steamboat Springs installation.
